The location was perfect for exploring, right in the heart of the action! The room was clean with a comfy bed, but the bathroom was way too small. Location convenience, clean comfortable bed

The double room was recently refurbished and neat with ac. I had central heating, an electronic key card, and a work desk in the room. The location was marvellous and incredible, between two train stations, it's a plus.

The location was absolutely perfect because it was near supermarkets, Gran Via, the main street and also the Gran Via metro station with good connections, and the center of Madrid...

Convenient location for exploring nearby shops.
Finding the entrance to the hostel was frustrating-there was no visible sign indicating the hostel's name, which led to unnecessary confusion. Our room felt cramped and lacked sufficient storage for our belongings. A nightstand would have been greatly appreciated. To top it off, the soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty during our entire stay, which should be a basic amenity.

Recently renovated and neat room available with a balcony, natural ventilation. Perfect facilities. Particularly good location, really close to a large urban plaza❤

In my case they offered Wheelchair Accessible room with French balcony and modern touches, as example and that was great. It had very central location close to a State - owned art museum.

Had a brand new room which was excellent, the location in calle fuencarral is perfect for a visit to Central Madrid
too hat as no air condition, you have to cope with noise - potentially - due to its central location in a shopping / bar district

It has a perfect location for tourists, super close to cafes and shops. The small double room was clean and quiet, nice for a refreshing getaway. The bed size was just right for one, and i appreciated the recreational opportunities offered here.

Hostal Abril Madrid is a new or totally renovated hostal. Hostals in Spain are something like Pensione in Italy, which means that you take a room in a one floor hotel. Having said that, Hostal Abril Madrid was excellent! Excellent! The whole hostal is eather totally renovated, or completely new. Our room had a very comfortable bed, with a comforter (which definitely is a rarity for hotels these days) a flat screen TV and they were installing AC in every room as we were staying there. The room smelled and looked very clean! The location is excellent! I would strongly recommend this hostal! Excellent!

The location is great. Good for shopping. 5 minutes walk from Gran Via metro station.
Staff doesn't speak a single word of English! Hard to communicate. There is no cup in the bathroom for washing the teeth.

Friendly staff provided helpful information, and the location made it easy to explore nearby cafes and shops. The rooms were clean and featured comfortable beds, although some noise from other guests could be heard at times. The air conditioning worked well, but the bathroom felt a bit cramped. Enjoyed hot dogs from a local vendor nearby.

The staff was nice and let me check in early which was a relief after so much travelling. The air conditioning was heaven and the location was quiet but very convenient.
Showers were a little like a yoga class--a lot of contortions. But all euro-hotels seem to have very little showers.

Location, price, cleanliness. Beds are the only downside, not as comfortable as I expected but overall I would stay again. Good air conditioner (needed in the Summer!), good location, excellent for tackling the city!
